I’m sure that the general consensus when it comes to professional wrestling is grossly stereotypical. People don’t believe those competing in the ring are very smart and see nothing but all brawn, no brain within the ropes. The truth is that while wrestling may have been closer to this stereotype long ago, the spectacle has long since evolved. In fact, I’m sure that if these wrestlers today had financial issues, a collection agency would be the place to turn to in order to see them through.
One such wrestler who has just as much intelligence as in-ring skill today goes by the name of CM Punk. Not only is he trained in martial arts – his series of kicks do not lie – but he is able to use his words in order to sway any situation in his favor. This has worked very well for him recently, as is now the WWE Champion who many fans have come to despise. While I myself am a big fan of Punk’s work, I cannot deny the fact that he is a very effective bad guy, perhaps more so than he ever was as a hero.
However, as Punk has taken a recent turn to the dark side, I can’t deny that his tactics have changed quite a bit. Instead of an emphasis on powerful strikes, he has since turned to cheating tactics, whether it’s utilizing the ropes for added leverage during pins or taking advantage of interference that other wrestlers cause. He is, in essence, a master of the game and he has played it well up until this point in his career. Even though he is very smart in wrestling, something tells me that debt would be a situation he wouldn’t want a part of.
I think it would be in Punk’s best interest to look into an organization like Rapid Recovery if he wanted his work done in an efficient. In fact, such a collection agency would be perfect for the money-related problems that Punk may not want to be too terribly involved in. Punk would find it beneficial to look into these services as a heel who allows others to do the work for him. I feel like the conflicting level of morals between the villainous Punk and a strong company like this could come about, though.
Punk would most likely have to fix some things in terms of image, at least temporarily, if he wants to work with a collection agency. The WWE Champion may see that working in this kind of industry calls for extra work to be done, too. However, can partnerships like these truly stand strong in the grand scheme of things? Considering Punk’s brazen attitude and reluctance to follow the rules, the rate of success, while still present, is still one that seems to hang by a thread.
